Founder and President


Provide Construction management, civil, lateral and structural engineering services for new residences, buildings, additions, remodels to clients in residential and commercial construction, and land development sectors. Provide targeted drainage plans and grading plans for commercial properties, single family residences, short plats and land development. Act as liaison between clients and state/county/city agencies to bring buildings/properties up to code.

Vice President


Determine residential project scopes for Heide Homes division and arrange financing. Prepare engineering calculations and drawings, project schedules, financial reports/draw requests and estimates. Schedule and direct sub-contractors, and perform the following trade work depending on project scope: concrete forming, pouring and finishing; framing; and finish carpentry.


Chevron Overseas Petroleum Incorporated                                                      1987 to October 1990

Lead Construction Engineer


Sharjah, U.A.E.                                                                                            1989 to October 1990

Responsible for review and approval of contractor fabrication drawings, engineering change requests, and field fabrication of one 1200 ton 8-pile jacket for 212 foot water depth and two production decks (1-60MBPD and 1-80MBPD) for offshore Angola. Provided quality control for all structural, piping and painting work. Supervised five U.S. based quality control inspectors. Project contract value was $44MM.


Ambriz, Angola                                                                                                         1987 to 1989

Responsible for review and approval of contractor fabrication drawings, engineering change requests, and field fabrication of one 800 ton 8-pile jacket for 146 foot water depth and two - four pile - 9 well - platforms for offshore Angola. This also included installation and hook-up work offshore. Also responsible for quality control of all structural, piping, and painting work. Supervised three U.S. based quality control inspectors. Projects cumulative contract value was $15MM. This work was done on a rotation basis with a four week work period and a four week off period back in the U.S.

Worked as carpenter doing framing and finish work during the time I was in the U.S. Approximately five months total.


CHEVRON CORPORATION                                                                July 1986 to November 1986

Construction Engineer


Repaired cooling tower forebay while tower remained in operation following failure of 20-year old steel pilings. Included driving piling through existing pipe racks and jacking forebay to original elevation.


CHEVRON CHEMICAL COMPANY                                                                    1984 to June 1986

Project Engineer


Denver, Colorado and Rock Springs, Wyoming

Responsible for the design of all offsite utilities for a $100MM fertilizer plant. This included a 450 acre tailings pond, a 9 mile railroad spur climbing the face of a 200 foot bluff and a river crossing, gas supply pipeline, and a 5 mile waterline and pump station. This included development of schedules and budgets, selection of contractors, and supervision and direction of the designs, as well as coordination with the governmental agencies responsible for permits.


Transferred to the field where previous responsibilities were expanded to include construction of the plant rail loading facilities, a phosphoric acid plant and a slurry receiving station. The value of this work was approximately $50MM.


CHEVRON CORPORATION                                                               May 1980 to December-1983

Construction Engineer


Sudan, Africa

Oversaw terminal construction operations on the Nile river. This included construction of pipelines and repair of a bulkhead. Coordinated field surveys and mapping for a terminal on the Red Sea.


San Francisco, California

Design engineer for miscellaneous civil projects. This included site work, foundations, structures and buildings.
