About

Our Services

Provide Civil and Structural Engineering services for new residences, buildings, additions, remodels and drainage plans for single family residences, preferably in Snohomish County.


Act as a liaison between clients and state/county city agencies to bring buildings and properties up to code.


Focus is on residential, single family, wood structures and drainage plans within Snohomish County Jurisdiction.


Our Story

Over the past 30 years,  we have provided civil and structural engineering services to clients in the land development and building construction industry.


The primary objective was to market the services of our Principal Engineer, R.D. Heide, P.E.


Mr. Heide grew up in the construction field and was hired by Chevron Corporation out of college in 1980. He developed engineering and project management skills doing design work and construction management for Chevron Companies in various locations in the U.S., Africa and in the Middle East.


As his family grew it became obvious that he would need to spend more time at home to succeed raising his family. In an effort to provide increased presence in the family he left Chevron and established Design Build Services, Inc. to market those skills.


From that beginning, the firm has grown to include administrative and engineering support personnel. 


The firm has been located at its present location in Snohomish County, for well over 25 years and we get the bulk of our work from client referral.
